The following comments have come to us from many different people who wanted to tell us about their drop-off store experience, and how much this site means to them. We are posting their emails without identifying the writer. We have received so many emails that we added more pages.
If you think you are the only one, just click on the number and read the letters To Karen & Gene @ Am I The Only One.

...the model is flawed. Here is why and what we know now. You can never become efficient. Each item taken in requires an array of time, some minimal, some major and it seldom ties to the selling price of the object

Thank you so much. You have been a god send and we appreciate all the advice and concern. This whole mess has been tearing us all apart, and yours has been the voice of reason. Thank you

We have yet to show a profit in 2 years. Sure, we have had good months, but nothing sustainable. In fact, we are having ever decreasing interest and consigners
We were open less than a year, and I couldn't understand why the numbers were just not working as we had been told by the franchiser. You will likely be in the profit within 3-4 months, they said.

What I just can't believe is this stinking franchise keeps getting on all the gd lists for "one of the top franchises in the country" by all these different magazines.

I predict many more will also fail as they run out of cash. The other store here has already 2nd mortgaged his house for more cash. He's in deeper than I am with $3K per month sales and $6K per month in expenses after 6 months of operations. What a GREAT business!?!

I am blessed to have known you and to have gotten guidance from you as well as great connections!

Basically, I am 100% tapped out. We are moving out of the store this weekend-BUT I am still stuck with rent, utilities, and insurance ( a total of over $3,000 monthly) until the landlord finds a new tenant and THEN I have to pay a broker's fee!

Everything went fine, we established a new business account, etc. Then suddenly, the corp. office, sent out thousands of dollars of old seller checks, from the old business account.
I realized during training that they were full of crap, the software was crap, etc. However, I was determined to make it work since we’d invested so much.

My savings have evaporated faster'n a spilled canteen in a Baghdad August (been there). The dirt bags are looking for ways to find me in violation of my franchise agreement, even when I am out of ANY money and closing.
You (and Gene) have been a great source of support and encouragement for me, through your website and your correspondence.

As I mentioned to you, before I threw in the towel and closed my store, I had to liquidate my sons college fund

Our store has been open over two years. We have seen two stores come and go in this area since that time, one was an independent, the other, [national chain] which only lasted about 6-8 months in a very good, high-traffic location (I thought).
I just want to say that everything I read in your site sounds just like my experience with [national franchise]. I owned the number one [national franchise] in [city, state], I pulled away from them before going broke.
